Five Salina Central Seniors Perform at Carnegie Hall
Five Salina Central High School seniors made history this month by performing at Carnegie Hall as members of the International Honors Choir—the most students CHS has ever sent to the prestigious venue at one time.
Ellie Riekhof, Mac Sheforgen, Madison Berndt, Wyatt Angell and Marcos Lira were selected through the Honors Performance Series, a highly competitive program that reviews thousands of applications from students across more than seven countries. All five nominated CHS seniors earned spots in the international ensemble.
During their time in New York City, the students rehearsed under world-renowned conductors and performed alongside talented musicians from around the globe. They also explored the city's cultural landmarks, attending a Broadway musical and visiting Times Square.
The accomplishment marks a record-breaking year for the CHS choir program. #305GrowsGreatness
