Steve's work has a strong conceptual foundation. It is intentionally grounded in an idea or a question. Purely decorative art is not his forte. More comfortable working in three dimensions; making sculpture and assemblages with clay, metal and found objects is more typical of his work. Howver, for this show Steve has produced oil paintings which he still views with mystery--half science and half alchemy. He has responded to the challenge of painting and drawing more than usual. Steve will speak at 5 PM.
