Community Poll

Salina is the only city in Kansas that has a stand-alone department for arts and humanities, with an executive director and staff. The department incurs costs in excess of $1,000,000 per year. This is a legacy department that was established in 1966 . Other larger cities have this function embedded within larger departments, providing additional oversight and accountability. With the recent "wants vs. needs" question, do you believe the Salina commission needs to take another look at the existing structure to ensure Salina taxpayers (and visitors) are getting the best value for tax dollars expended?
