Man Arrested in Salina for PFA Violation and Stolen Vehicle
Salina police arrested a 25-year-old man Thursday afternoon after a patrol officer discovered a Protection From Abuse (PFA) violation and a stolen vehicle.
Officers on patrol around 3 p.m. on October 18 in the 500 block of North 12th Street observed a white Kia Soul whose driver displayed suspicious behavior, pulling over and leaving the vehicle. During a consensual contact, officers learned the driver, identified as Braiden Cooley, had a PFA order against a 37-year-old female passenger in the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that the Kia Soul had an altered tag and was reported stolen from Sedgwick County. Cooley was arrested and charged with violation of a protection order and possession of stolen property.
Police reported that the individuals in the car were not supposed to be together due to the protection order. The case remains under investigation.
