Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on K-140 in Brookville

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on K-140 and Perry Street in Brookville Friday evening.

The crash involved a 1986 Harley Davidson Wide Glide motorcycle and a 2003 Subaru Forester around 6:53 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate the Subaru struck the motorcycle. The rider, Riley Faris, a 30-year-old man from Salina, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as 39-year-old Kylie Barnett from Kanapolis, was arrested and transported to Saline County Jail. She faces charges of driving while suspended, no proof of insurance, and following too closely.

A preliminary investigation found no signs of alcohol involvement. The investigation is ongoing.
