Man Arrested After Threat and Property Damage at Pump Mart

Salina Police arrested 46-year-old Walter Cook after an incident at Pump Mart, located at 1118 North Ninth Street, on November 1 around 7 p.m.

Police say Cook entered the store and took two packs of cigarettes without paying. When the 49-year-old clerk confronted him, Cook became upset. After the cigarettes were recovered, Cook allegedly threatened to shoot the clerk before going outside and puncturing one of the clerk’s vehicle tires with a knife.

Officers located Cook a few blocks from the business, where he was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of criminal threat and criminal damage to property, with the tire damage estimated at $100.
