Two Arrested After Meth and Firearm Found During Traffic Stop at Shilling and I-135
Salina Police arrested two men following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of drugs and a firearm on November 6 around noon.
According to authorities, a black 2012 Ford Mustang driven by Dalton Freeze of Salina was stopped at the intersection of Shilling Road and Interstate 135 for improper lane driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Passenger Carl Persinger, also of Salina, was in the vehicle.
A police canine alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle. Officers located approximately half an ounce of methamphetamine, a handgun, and various drug paraphernalia, including baggies and packaging materials.
Both Freeze and Persinger were taken into custody and booked into the Saline County Jail. Charges include distribution and possession of opiates, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distruibute, felon in possession of a firearm, and no drug tax stamp. Freeze also faces traffic-related citations.
The investigation remains ongoing.
