Storage Unit Burglary Reported on North Ninth Street

Officers responded to a reported storage unit burglary around noon on November 8 in the 400 block of North Ninth Street.

The property owner discovered a damaged lock, and the renter reported several stolen items, including a generator ($500), fishing poles ($150), tackle boxes with contents ($150), a Minn Kota Edge trolling motor ($500), and a Garmin Striker Vivid 9sv fish finder ($650). The total loss is estimated at $1,950.

Police said the lock appeared to have been punched rather than cut, and the unit was unfenced, allowing easier access. Video surveillance is being reviewed as the investigation continues.
