Arrest Made After Road Rage Crash Causes Rollover Near Schilling and I-135
Salina Police arrested a driver following a road rage incident that led to a rollover crash Sunday, November 9, near the Schilling Road exit from I-135.
According to authorities, the incident began in a construction zone near State Street and I-135 and involved two vehicles: a 2020 Kia Telluride driven by a 20-year-old male from Solomon and a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by 22-year-old Kaden Deans of Enterprise.
Investigators said the Dodge Ram was tailgating the Kia through the construction area. Before reaching the Schilling Road exit, both drivers engaged in aggressive driving behaviors, including braking and unsafe following. After exiting at Schilling Road, the Dodge Ram struck the Kia, causing it to roll over in the 400 block of West Schilling near Walmart.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene. The Kia driver sustained minor injuries, including two cuts and a bruise to his left bicep, but was not transported to the hospital. The Kia was totaled, and the Dodge Ram sustained moderate front-end damage.
Deans was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and reckless driving. Witnesses provided statements at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
