Salina Police Arrest Man After Disturbance and Property Damage on East Kirwin
Salina Police responded to a reported disturbance at approximately 4:15 p.m. on December 16 in the 400 block of East Kirwin. The call was initially reported by a neighbor. While en route, officers confirmed that a no-contact order was in place involving 27-year-old Michael Garcia, who was prohibited from being at the residence due to a prior case.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Garcia had forcibly entered the home by kicking in a door. The female resident, identified as a 53-year-old victim, was not present at the time and was contacted by phone. Police reported that Garcia caused extensive damage to the residence, including damage to drywall and furniture, with an estimated loss of approximately $15,000.
Garcia was still at the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into jail on a charge of felony criminal damage to property. Officers confirmed that Garcia and the victim were acquainted.
No evidence of alcohol or drug involvement was reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
