Police Investigating Theft of Enclosed Trailer from South Ohio Area
Salina police are investigating the theft of an enclosed trailer reported in the 600 block south of Ohio.
According to police, the trailer was last seen parked at the location on December 26 at approximately 7 a.m., secured with a trailer lock. On Sunday, December 28, the owner discovered the trailer missing. Officers determined the lock had been cut, and both the trailer and its contents were taken.
The stolen trailer is described as a 2001 Avenger enclosed box trailer, approximately 14 feet long, white in color, bearing tag number 6370AKE. The trailer is valued at approximately $5,500.
Police report the trailer contained a variety of tools and miscellaneous items valued at an estimated $6,000. Items reported stolen include coolers, generators, a canopy, an inflatable air mattress, and other moving-related or assorted property.
Investigators discussed information suggesting the trailer may have been seen near the Kansas–Oklahoma border. Officers are actively using Flock license plate reader technology and the LSAC system to track potential sightings. The most recent tag read associated with the trailer was reported near the state line.
The trailer and its contents have not been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
