Domestic Disturbance Results in Arrest
Salina Police officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 31 in the 1600 block of West Republic.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a 33-year-old female resident who reported that a known associate, Dennis Wright, 28, had became irate and physically assaulted her. According to the victim, Wright choked her, dragged her outside of the residence, and then forced her back inside against her will. During the incident, the victim’s eyeglasses were broken.
The victim was able to exit the residence and contact police. Officers met her outside while Wright remained inside and initially refused to exit. Officers made forced entry into the residence and took Wright into custody without further incident.
Officers observed visible signs of injury to the victim, including marks on her neck. Alcohol intoxication was identified as a contributing factor. No on-scene medical treatment was documented at the time.
Wright was arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and criminal damage to property.
