Three-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation on Centennial Road

The Salina Police Department responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 2000 block of Centennial Road just before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 4.

According to the Salina Police Department Traffic Unit investigation, a tan 2001 Honda Accord driven by 20-year-old Brayden Brown was traveling northbound on Centennial Road and attempted to pass a maroon 2023 Buick Envision driven by 26-year-old Cesareo Morales Jr. The Buick also contained two juvenile passengers under the age of 14.

At the same time, a white 2007 Ford Edge driven by 26-year-old Falon Deherrera was traveling southbound on Centennial Road as the Honda attempted to pass the Buick. During the passing maneuver, the Honda clipped the Buick, causing the Buick to leave the roadway, go through a fence, and overturn onto its roof.

Following the initial collision, the Honda began to leave the roadway but overcorrected back onto the road, crossed into the southbound lanes, and was struck by the Ford Edge, resulting in significant damage to the Honda.

Brayden Brown was ejected from the Honda and transported to Salina Regional Health Center with minor injuries. All occupants of the Buick were transported to Salina Regional Health Center with minor injuries. Falon Deherrera, the driver of the Ford Edge, was also transported to Salina Regional Health Center and later airlifted to a Wichita hospital for further treatment.

The crash and the events leading up to it remain under investigation by the Salina Police Department Traffic Unit.
