Woman Arrested Following Infant Death in Central Salina
On January 12, 2026, at approximately 7:42 a.m., officers with the Salina Police Department and Salina Fire Department medics responded to a medical call involving an unknown disturbance at a single-family residence in central Salina.
Upon arrival, officers and medics contacted the occupants of the residence. Prior to calling police, one of the occupants reported discovering a 5-month-old male unresponsive in his crib. Emergency personnel responded, and the child was pronounced deceased.
Salina Police Detectives conducted interviews with both adult occupants of the residence. As a result of the investigation, Adyson Burr, 21, a resident of the home, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree homicide and one count of child abuse.
The investigation remains ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted later this week in Kansas City as part of the continued investigation.
