Board Appoints Negotiation Teams for 2026–27 Contract Discussions
The Salina Public Schools Board of Education approved negotiation teams for upcoming 2026–27 contract discussions during its regular meeting on Tuesday.
For certified personnel negotiations, the board appointed Gabe Grant and Dana Kossow as board representatives. They will serve on the negotiation team alongside Eryn Wright, who will act as lead negotiator, and Lisa Peters, executive director of business. District officials recommended appointing two board members to the certified negotiations team for this cycle.
The board also approved the meet-and-confer team for classified personnel. Amy Freelove and Dana Johnson were appointed as board representatives. They will work with Eryn Wright, Steve Dorzweiler, manager of human resources, and Lisa Peters.
District officials explained that the meet-and-confer process serves classified staff who are not licensed by the Kansas State Department of Education and focuses on terms and conditions of employment that may later be incorporated into the support staff handbook. The district plans to seek nominees and volunteers from various classified staff groups to participate in the process.
Both appointments were approved unanimously by 7–0 votes, formally initiating preparations for 2026–27 contract discussions.
