Construction Underway on Final Phase of Lee Lofts Complex
Construction has officially begun on the third and final building of the Lee Lofts complex in downtown Salina.
The southernmost building in the three-structure complex stands apart from its neighbors—it was built in 1927 with a reinforced concrete structure rather than the wood timber framing used in the northern buildings. Originally serving as the HD Lee Hardware Warehouse, the building earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
The warehouse's mostly open layout includes historic offices on the first floor. Developers plan to transform the space into 37 loft apartments featuring studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans. Residents will have access to shared amenities across the Lee Lofts complex, including a fitness room, community spaces with kitchenette, laundry facilities, playground, and dog park.
