Leonard “Alan” Schmitt, 87, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Alan was born in Eads, Colorado on June 8, 1938, to Marjorie Genevieve (Howell) and Leonard Alexander Schmitt. Survivors include two sons: Leonard Alan Schmitt Jr. (Kay), of Salina; Brian Schmitt (Joane), of Gypsum; grandchildren: Jessica Bender (David), of Gardner, Angela Dixon (Colby), of Gardner, Carolyn Schmitt (Ross Siebe), of Manhattan, Michael Pope (Shannon), of Maize, Joseph Pope (Krystin), of Salina; and brother-in-laws: Duane Weed of Wisconsin, and Richard Olson, of Tonganoxie. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Samara Bender, Reed Bender, Teagan Pope, Hudson Pope, and Kinsley Pope; and numerous other family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen; son, Dennis Schmitt; and siblings, Rosemary Stoker, Lewis Schmitt, and Nancy Olson. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 6th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas. The family requests donations be made to Bill Fekas Family Christmas Dinner, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Glenda "Glenna" Jane Vandyne, 82, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026. She was born in White City, KS, to Vernon and Amelia (Picolet) Shope on November 20, 1943.

Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Vandyne, of the home; children, Shena Lynn Miloni and Quint Dean Rohloff; sister, Mildred Johnson; granddaughter, Fay M. Gutierrez; great-grandchildren, Duston P. Miloni, Picard D. Miloni, and Anthony J. Gutierrez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, George E. Shope and Vernon G. Shope.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, in care of Heier Scott Mortuary and Cremations, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.
