One Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash On Westbound I-70 Near Salina
A three-vehicle crash with one reported injury occurred Saturday afternoon on westbound Interstate 70 near Salina, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 1:27 p.m. on Sunday near mile marker 250.7, where traffic from northbound I-135 merges onto westbound I-70.
Troopers said a 2014 Jeep Cherokee was entering westbound I-70 from the northbound I-135 on-ramp when the driver lost control and was struck by a westbound 2014 Toyota Camry. Investigators said a third vehicle, a 2008 Ford F-350, then rear-ended the Camry.
The Jeep driver, 32-year-old Sara Kay Wellbrock of Russell, was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with possible injuries. The other two drivers — 19-year-old Mason Edward Smith of Minneapolis, Kansas, and 24-year-old Michael Alan Rider of Malvern, Arkansas — were not reported injured.
