Freddy’s D-Thru on Crawford Street Closing After Five-Year Test of Drive-Thru-Only Concept, JRI Tells Salina311
The Freddy’s D-Thru on Crawford Street is closing after a five-year test of the drive-thru-only concept, and today is its final day of operation, according to information provided directly to Salina311 by JRI Hospitality.
JRI told Salina311 the Crawford location was part of a test of a drive-thru-only Freddy’s footprint, and that this format is no longer an approved Freddy’s footprint following the test period.
JRI said the Crawford Street location will cease operations at the end of the day.
JRI also told Salina311 that Freddy’s South remains open and is business as usual.
Employees being offered opportunities at other local JRI businesses
JRI also told Salina311 that employees at the closing location are being offered the chance to apply at the company’s other businesses in town, with the goal of helping provide continued local employment opportunities through that approach.
JRI looking at new concept for the space
JRI told Salina311 it is actively looking at a new use for the Crawford Street space and is interested in bringing in either:
a boba tea concept, or
a dirty soda concept
No opening timeline or final replacement concept had been announced at the time of publication.
