Suspects Attempt Break-Ins at Two Salina Convenience Stores

Two suspects attempted to break into two Salina convenience stores on the night of Monday, March 2, 2026, according to the Salina Police Department.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., the pair tried to break through the door of Rod's Convenience Store #5 at 680 S. Phillips but were unable to gain entry. Damage to the door was estimated at $1,000. About 45 minutes later, at around 10:15 p.m., the suspects broke the glass door of Rod's Convenience Store #1 at 1401 S. Santa Fe and entered the building, where they stole approximately 60 assorted vape cartridges. Total loss and damage at that location were estimated at $1,200.

Police described the suspects as possible juveniles. One was reportedly wearing a ball cap, gray sweater or jacket, black pants, and dark shoes. The second was wearing a black puffy jacket, a face covering, a maroon sweatshirt, black pants, gloves, and a dark-colored backpack.
