Local gas prices jump 8.3% in a week, hit highest point since November
Gas prices in Salina rose again on March 6, reaching $2.89 per gallon, up from $2.79 on March 5, according to local tracking data.
The increase also pushed the latest weekly average to $2.60 per gallon, compared with $2.40 the week before, a week-over-week increase of 8.3%.
The March 6 price marks the highest recorded local gas price since tracking began on Nov. 4, 2025. Across 41 recorded data points, the historical average stands at $2.50 per gallon, with prices ranging from a low of $2.19 to the new high of $2.89.
So far in March 2026, gas prices in Salina have averaged $2.80 per gallon across four updates. That is up from the $2.50 average recorded in February, a month-over-month increase of 11.7%.
The recent climb shows drivers in Salina are paying noticeably more at the pump than they were just weeks ago. While fuel prices can shift quickly based on wholesale costs, supply conditions and regional demand, the current trend puts local prices at their highest point in the available dataset.
