Bennington State Bank CEO Darren Gragg appointed to Kansas State Banking Board

Darren Gragg, chairman, president and CEO of Bennington State Bank, has been appointed to the Kansas State Banking Board by Gov. Laura Kelly and confirmed by the Kansas Senate.

Gragg joined the board in February and brings decades of experience in community banking.

As chairman, president and CEO of Bennington State Bank, Gragg has helped lead the bank’s growth while maintaining its focus on relationship banking and local decision-making. The bank said his leadership has helped support local businesses, families and community development across Kansas.

The Kansas State Banking Board advises the Office of the State Bank Commissioner on regulatory matters and provides guidance on issues affecting state-chartered banks across the state. The nine-member board includes six Kansas bankers and three public representatives selected for their knowledge and experience in banking and finance.

Gragg joins several other recently appointed bankers on the board, including chairman Taylor Hight, president and CEO of American Bank of Baxter Springs. Other recently appointed members include Tonya Barta, president and CEO of The Farmers State Bank in Holton; Jared Brown, chairman and CEO of Impact Bank in Wellington; and Jacinda Zerr, market president of Farmers Bank of Kansas City in Overland Park.

According to Bennington State Bank, Gragg’s appointment reflects the continued influence of community bankers in shaping Kansas’ financial environment and the bank’s ongoing commitment to local decision-making and community investment.

Bennington State Bank has served customers for more than 135 years and offers a full range of banking services, including online and mobile platforms. The bank reports more than $1.25 billion in assets, along with $550 million in wealth assets, and operates 12 locations across nine Kansas communities.
