Traffic Citations Surge on Weekend Blitz

The Salina Police Department issued 36 citations on March 14 and 34 more on March 15—the biggest weekend blitz since January.

After the crackdown, counts fell for four straight days to 15 tickets on March 17.

Even with the late-week slide, the seven-day average climbed to 19.4 citations, up 27% from the prior week's 15.3, and March overall is running 36% hotter than February.
