Subsoil moisture supplies rated 18% very short, 41% short, 39% adequate, and 2% surplus.

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 7% very poor, 15% poor, 38% fair, 35% good, and 5% excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 23%, ahead of 8% last year and 7% for the five-year average.
