Saline County Male Jail Population Remains Elevated After April Climb

The male jail population in Saline County closed the week at 147 on April 26 after back-to-back increases from 145 on April 24 to 146 on April 25 and 147 on April 26.
That gives the series a three-day rising streak and keeps the population near this month's recorded peak of 152.
April is averaging 145.7 inmates, up 8.7 percent from March's 134.0 average and well above the full recorded average of 135.0 since Jan. 25.
The latest seven-day average was 146.6, showing the county remains in a sustained higher-population stretch even after easing slightly from the April high.
