Saline County Highlights Behind-the-Scenes Work Across Departments

Saline County is highlighting the work of county staff through a new “County Staff Behind-the-Scenes” series focused on department accomplishments from 2025.

According to the county, the series will spotlight 15 departments over the next two weeks, showing work that often happens outside public view. The county said staff across multiple departments adapted to new laws, improved internal processes, worked through budget challenges and continued providing essential services to residents.

The first update highlights Senior Services, the Sheriff’s Office and the Treasurer/Tag Office.

Saline County Senior Services reported that the Senior Center served more than 124,000 meals in 2025. The county said the meals supported both nutrition and social connection for local seniors. Senior Services also pointed to community events, volunteer efforts and holiday programs as part of its outreach work. Facility upgrades funded through grants are also expected to support future services.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office was recognized for deputies’ life-saving actions and continued work expanding inmate programs and community training. The county said operational upgrades helped improve efficiency, while the office also earned statewide recognition for traffic safety efforts. Sheriff’s Office staff also assisted with emergency response efforts outside the county.

The Treasurer/Tag Office reported improvements aimed at making services easier for residents to access. According to the county, online scheduling helped increase appointments by 187%. Digital payments and a new 24/7 drop box were also added to improve convenience, reduce wait times and streamline daily operations.
