Southeast of Saline Seniors Sign to Continue Athletic Careers at Next Level
Eight Southeast of Saline seniors from the Class of 2026 were recognized during a signing day ceremony celebrating their commitments to compete in college athletics.
Leading the group were football players Brody Chambers, who signed with Grandview University, and Malachi Hopkins, who will attend Tabor College. Coaches praised both athletes for their impact on a highly successful program, highlighting Chambers’ championship résumé and Hopkins’ playmaking ability.
Emma Breen announced her commitment to Sterling College, where she will cheer while studying criminal justice.
In track and cross-country, Eliana Smith will continue her career at Colorado School of Mines, while majoring in civil engineering after a standout high school run that included a second-place state finish in the high jump. Jacob Bircher will compete in cross-country, soccer, and track at Park University; Braden Walker will also run track and cross-country at Park University.
Jaleyanna Poullard signed with Newman University to continue dance while pursuing nursing and psychology.
One additional athlete, Grady Gebhardt, was also recognized but unable to attend. Grady will continue his career in football at Tabor College
The ceremony concluded with each athlete signing and posing for photos with family, teammates, and coaches.
