Torch Run Benefiting The Special Olympics Returns to Salina

The Torch Run returned to Salina on Friday, May 8, marking its first appearance since 2019.

Participants departed from the Salina Police Station and made their way down Santa Fe and Ohio Street to Jerry Ivey Park, carrying the torch to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes.

The event is part of a nationwide series of torch runs taking place throughout May. For Kansas residents, these runs build momentum toward the Kansas Special Olympics Summer Games, scheduled for June 5-7 in Wichita.
