AMC Salina 10 Remains Closed as Reopening Questions Continue

AMC Salina 10 at Central Mall remains closed following the recent storm and hail damage that affected portions of the mall, leaving local moviegoers with unanswered questions about whether the theater will reopen and when.

Salina311 reached out to AMC’s corporate office and made contact with the company’s Senior Vice President of Public Relations. The request asked AMC to address several questions, including whether the Salina location sustained damage from the storm, whether the theater is expected to reopen, whether there is an estimated reopening timeline, whether repairs, inspections or cleanup are still underway, and whether AMC had any statement it wanted included in local coverage.

As of publication, AMC has not provided a response.

Salina311 also made contact with staff at the Salina AMC location. Local staff were not able to provide a statement of any kind regarding the theater’s status or future plans.

Rumors have circulated locally that AMC may not reopen the Salina location. However, Salina311 has not confirmed those rumors, and AMC has not issued any statement confirming that the theater is permanently closed. The AMC10 page on the AMC website has listed the location as closed temporarily with no updates or additional information. 

At this time, the confirmed information is limited: AMC Salina 10 remains closed, AMC corporate has been contacted for comment, local staff have not been able to comment, and no official reopening date has been provided.

The theater’s continued closure comes as Central Mall continues dealing with the aftermath of storm damage that affected multiple businesses and portions of the property. Several tenants have faced closures, cleanup, repairs or operational disruptions since the hail event.
