Salina Commission to Receive 2024 Audit Report Monday
The Salina City Commission is scheduled to review and receive the city’s 2024 Audit Report during its regular meeting Monday.
The report will be presented by Forvis Mazars, LLP, the accounting firm listed on the June 8 City Commission agenda. The item appears under the administration section of the meeting agenda.
The audit report is part of the city’s annual financial review process and provides an outside examination of the city’s financial records, accounting practices, and overall financial reporting for the year. Municipal audits are used to help verify whether public funds are being tracked and reported properly.
The agenda does not include a summary of the audit findings or list whether the report identifies any concerns, deficiencies, or recommendations. Those details are expected to come from the full audit report or the presentation during Monday’s meeting.
The audit item is one of several financial matters scheduled for consideration Monday. Commissioners are also expected to consider authorizing the issuance and sale of $12.66 million in General Obligation Internal Improvement Bonds and awarding a bid for the Landfill Scale House and Scales project to Vogts Construction of Newton for an amount not to exceed $3,239,888.76.
The regular City Commission meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, June 8, in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. A study session on 2027 outside agency budget requests is scheduled earlier in the day at 2 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public and will also be available through the city’s Zoom and YouTube options.
