Salina Salvation Army Dinner Service Begins at 6 P.M. at Tony’s Pizza Events Center
Salina311 spoke directly with the Salina Salvation Army, which confirmed it is providing meals today for residents affected by storm-related power outages in the Salina area.
The organization said the meals are being provided through City of Salina, KS Government emergency funds set aside for local response efforts, including severe weather, power outages, and other situations that disrupt access to food or basic household needs.
A free lunch distribution was held at 1:00 p.m. at the south circle drive of Tony’s Pizza Events Center, which is serving as the pickup location. Each lunch box included a hamburger with ketchup and mustard, mac and cheese, and chips.
The Salvation Army also confirmed it plans to provide spaghetti dinners tonight, with dinner service beginning at 6:00 p.m. The organization said it is still finalizing logistics and menu details for the dinner service, but the spaghetti will most likely be served with meat sauce.
Pickup will again take place at Tony’s Pizza Events Center. The meal effort is being coordinated by the Salina Salvation Army, Tony’s Pizza Events Center, and the City of Salina.
Drivers should use the south circle drive at Tony’s Pizza Events Center, where meals will be brought directly to vehicles.
