Assaria Suspends Limb Pickup as Burn Pile Reaches Capacity

The city of Assaria has temporarily stopped collecting limbs and branches from residents after the community burn pile and storm debris pile behind the Community Center reached capacity.

City officials said it could be approximately two weeks before the current pile is burned down enough to reopen the site for additional storm debris. Limb and branch pickup services will remain suspended until space becomes available.

Residents in Assaria and the surrounding area who need to dispose of limbs and branches before the site reopens can take them to the Salina Landfill, which is currently accepting such materials.
