BREAKING: Smoky Hill River Festival Closed for the Night Due to Weather
The Smoky Hill River Festival has closed for the night due to severe weather moving through the Salina area.
Festival activities, vendor sales and performances had earlier been suspended as storms approached Oakdale Park. Attendees were asked to leave the park until the severe weather threat passed.
Festival officials have now closed the event for the remainder of the night.
The closure comes as Salina and surrounding areas have seen heavy rain, hail and strong winds Saturday evening. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect for the area until 11 p.m.
Residents and festivalgoers should continue monitoring weather alerts and avoid flooded roadways.
