Mill and Inlay Work Continues Monday on Broadway Boulevard
Mill and inlay work will continue Monday, June 15, as APAC Shears of Salina places an asphalt overlay on Broadway Boulevard from Republic Avenue to 9th Street.
The Broadway work is expected to continue through Tuesday, June 16, weather permitting. Once paving is complete on Broadway, crews will move to Wayne Avenue from Highland Avenue to the railroad tracks.
Beginning Tuesday, crews also are scheduled to continue milling operations on Ohio Street from Cloud Street to Belmont Boulevard through the remainder of the week.
Traffic will be maintained through the work zones, but lane restrictions will vary by street. On multi-lane streets, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open. On two-lane streets, traffic will be reduced to a single open lane. Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to slow down and use caution in work zones.
Additional streets included in the project are Clay Ridge Court; Vortex Avenue from Scanlan Avenue to Centennial Road; Wall Street from Centennial Road to the west cul-de-sac; Schippel Drive from Ohio Street to Lewis Street; Fawn Street from Cloud Street to Schippel Drive; Albert Avenue from Ohio Street to the Wendy's entrance; and the North 9th Street frontage roads north of Thomas Park.
The work is part of the City of Salina's 2026 street maintenance capital improvement program, a $5.9 million effort.
