Saline County Authorities Searching for Missing 50-Year-Old Man
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who disappeared while doing yard work at his rural residence.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Tobin Sawyers was reported missing after he vanished from his property in the 200 block of South Brenda Lane, east of Kipp Road in rural Saline County.
Investigators said Sawyers was last known to be mowing his approximately five-acre property on a riding lawnmower. His two juvenile children, ages 16 and 14, later went outside to check on him and discovered the mower sitting on the property and no longer running. Sawyers was nowhere to be found.
The children notified their mother, who instructed them to go inside and contact law enforcement.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence at approximately 5:25 p.m. and immediately began an extensive search of the area.
Search efforts have included:
•A neighborhood canvas
•K-9 tracking teams
•Drone and aerial searches
•Ground searches of the property and surrounding area
Authorities said a K-9 team used a known article of Sawyers' clothing to establish a scent for tracking purposes.
At this time, investigators have found no signs of foul play and no evidence indicating Sawyers was injured. No blood, personal belongings, or other evidence has been located.
Sawyers is described as:
•50 years old
•6 feet 3 inches tall
•Approximately 195 pounds
•Brown eyes
The Sheriff's Office emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Tobin Sawyers is encouraged to contact local law enforcement or the Saline County Sheriff's Office immediately.
