Arson Investigation Underway After Storage Containers Destroyed by Fire
Authorities are investigating an early morning fire that destroyed three storage containers in west Salina and has been determined to be an act of arson.
According to the Salina Police Department, officers and personnel from the Salina Fire Department responded at approximately 6:30 a.m. on June 20, 2026, to a fire in the 1100 block of West Elm Street.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found three storage containers engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fires and prevent the blaze from spreading further.
Following an investigation, officials determined the fires had been intentionally set.
Authorities said the storage containers did not contain any items of value at the time of the fire. However, the containers themselves sustained significant damage, with total losses estimated at approximately $9,000.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators have not announced any suspects, and the case remains under investigation.
