Salina Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Group With Handgun at Oakdale Park
A Salina man was arrested after allegedly threatening several people with a handgun during an argument at Oakdale Park.
According to the Salina Police Department, officers responded to Oakdale Park at approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 20, 2026, following a report that individuals had been threatened by a person armed with a gun.
Officers contacted a 26-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old girl, all of Salina. A 5-month-old child was also present with the group.
The individuals reported they had been at the park with a known associate, identified as 22-year-old Caden Breitmeyer of Salina. During an argument related to an incident that had reportedly occurred the previous day, Breitmeyer allegedly produced a handgun and threatened to shoot the group.
While officers were interviewing the victims, they observed a vehicle leaving the park that was identified as being driven by Breitmeyer. Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with him.
During the investigation, officers located two handguns in Breitmeyer’s possession.
Breitmeyer was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Saline County Jail.
He was booked on requested charges including:
•Multiple counts of aggravated assault
•Aggravated endangerment of a child
•Criminal threat
No injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
