Salina Crews Collect Over 1,400 Loads of Storm Debris, Pickup Continues
Salina street crews have collected more than 1,400 loads of limbs and delivered them to the Salina Landfill as of June 29, following a storm earlier this month, according to the City of Salina.
Crews have completed initial limb pickup passes in portions of the city, with the affected areas mapped by the city. A second pass is expected to be necessary, as residents have continued placing additional limbs and debris at the curb after crews have already moved through their neighborhoods.
The city is advising residents to place limbs at the curb before crews reach their area to ensure collection. Limbs on private streets, alleys, or commercial properties will not be collected by the city.
