Salina Officials Warn of Fake Violation Tickets Placed on Properties
The City of Salina has issued a warning to residents after reports of suspicious documents resembling violation tickets were found placed on properties. The fraudulent notices claim the city is issuing violations for tree limbs left at the curb for storm debris collection.
City officials confirmed that Salina is not issuing code violations for limbs properly placed at the curb for scheduled pick-up. According to the city, Code Enforcement will not issue any violations related to curbside limbs until collection operations have been completed.
The city reminded residents that while curbside limbs awaiting collection are not subject to enforcement action, other areas of private property should continue to be maintained and kept free of trash and debris.
Residents who receive a ticket, notice, or other document that appears illegitimate are asked to contact the city's Community and Development Services department at 785-309-5715 for verification.
