Barolo Grille Gives a Classic Cocktail a Dessert-Inspired Twist
Bananas Foster is usually served with a spoon, a flame and at least one person pretending calories do not exist. Barolo Grille has taken those familiar flavors and poured them into a cocktail glass.
The Bananas Foster Old Fashioned combines Mount Gay Eclipse rum with Giffard Banane du Brésil and browned butter bitters. The result is a rich, smooth cocktail that brings together banana, warm spice and buttery notes while keeping the strong, spirit-forward character expected from an Old Fashioned.
Using rum instead of the whiskey traditionally found in the cocktail gives the drink a tropical foundation, while the banana liqueur adds sweetness without turning it into a milkshake wearing formal clothes. The browned butter bitters complete the dessert-inspired flavor.
