Barolo Grille Turns Up the Heat With New “Heat Wave” Sushi Roll
Salina has already been getting plenty of heat this summer, but Barolo Grille has decided the weather should also come with spicy crab and tempura shrimp.
The downtown restaurant’s Sushi Roll of the Month is appropriately named the “Heat Wave.” The roll starts with tempura shrimp and avocado before being topped with yellowtail, seaweed salad, spicy crab, spicy mayo and ponzu sauce. The combination brings together crunch, fresh seafood, creamy avocado and enough spice to keep things interesting.
It is the kind of roll made for sushi fans who want more than the standard California roll experience. The tempura shrimp provides the crunch, the yellowtail and seaweed salad keep it fresh, and the spicy crab and mayo supply the heat. Basically, it has about as many layers as a Kansas summer forecast.
Located at 112 S. Santa Fe Avenue, Barolo Grille offers sushi alongside steaks, seafood, small plates, wine and craft cocktails. The restaurant also features a made-from-scratch kitchen and accepts reservations for dinner, business gatherings and group events.
Barolo Grille is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed Sundays. Happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m., with dinner service beginning at 4 p.m.
The “Heat Wave” is available as Barolo Grille’s featured sushi roll of the month. For reservations or additional information, customers may call 785-833-2272.
