BREAKING: Salina Commissioner Doug Rempp Moves to End Cozy Inn Legal Dispute, Motion Dies Without a Second
Salina City Commissioner Doug Rempp made a motion Monday night calling for the city to immediately end its involvement in the Cozy Inn matter.
Rempp said the issue was one of the primary reasons residents called for change approximately one year ago and argued that it continues to affect public confidence in the City Commission.
“It’s been a struggle to figure out exactly the total dollars spent, but in my humble opinion, spending the first dollar was too much on this,” Rempp said.
Rempp then moved for the city to “end the Cozy deal now” and “pull the plug on it.”
None of the other commissioners seconded the motion. Without a second, the motion died and no vote was taken.
The city’s involvement in the Cozy Inn matter will therefore continue unless the commission takes separate action at a future meeting.
