Mayor Hoppock Highlights Agreement to Transfer Former St. John’s Military School Property
Salina Mayor Mike Hoppock highlighted a recent agreement involving the transfer of the former St. John’s Military School property during Monday’s Salina City Commission meeting.
Hoppock discussed the agreement during the other-business portion of the meeting, where commissioners may raise community issues or provide updates that are not part of the commission’s formal agenda.
Hoppock said he attended a ceremony at the property on June 26 where St. Francis Ministries signed an agreement to transfer the former military school campus.
The mayor described the announcement as a positive development for Salina.
The property was historically home to St. John’s Military School and has more recently been operated by St. Francis Ministries.
The announcement did not involve a vote or other formal action by the City Commission. It was presented by Hoppock as a community update.
