Pickup Truck Stolen After Owner Leaves Vehicle Running in North Salina
Salina Police are investigating the theft of a pickup truck reported stolen Tuesday afternoon in north Salina.
According to police, at approximately 12:00 p.m. on July 15, 2026, officers made contact with a 78-year-old Clyde man who reported his maroon 2006 Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen from the 1500 block of North Ninth Street after he stopped to use a restroom. The vehicle was bearing Kansas disabled tag C3266.
A City of Salina employee mowing in the area reported seeing the truck being driven westbound on the levee. When the worker attempted to confront the driver for being on the levee, the vehicle continued westbound toward Euclid Avenue.
The truck was valued at approximately $7,500. The suspect was described as a white male with glasses, medium build, and believed to be between 30 and 40 years old.
The Salina Police Department reminds citizens not to leave vehicles running and unattended, regardless of how briefly they plan to be away, and to keep vehicles secured.
