Schmidt Sentenced After Charge Amended in Saline County Case

Keith Robert Schmidt has been sentenced in a Saline County criminal case after the charge against him was amended from a felony-level allegation to a misdemeanor-level interference charge.

The case, SA-2026-CR-000383, was filed June 22 in Saline County District Court. The original court record listed a felony interference with law enforcement charge tied to alleged warrant-service obstruction on June 20.

Court records show prosecutors filed an amended complaint/information on July 7. The disposition section now lists the charge as interference with law enforcement; obstruct/resist/oppose misdemeanor warrant service or execution, a misdemeanor nonperson charge.

The record shows Schmidt entered a nolo contendere plea on July 7, with the disposition listed as guilty plea.

A sentencing journal entry was filed July 13. The sentence entry lists confinement in the Saline County Jail with a six-month detention term, marked to be served concurrently.
