Short Legs, Big Personalities: Salina Corgis to Gather at Barkley Park
Corgis and their owners are invited to gather at Barkley Park later today for a July meetup featuring playtime, socialization and plenty of short-legged personality.
The meetup is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, in the far north section of Barkley Park, located at 1841 Markley Road in Salina.
The informal gathering will give local corgi owners an opportunity to meet other people who share an appreciation for the popular breed while allowing their dogs to play and socialize.
Both Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Cardigan Welsh Corgis are welcome.
Although corgis are best known for their short legs, upright ears and distinctive appearance, the breed was originally developed as a working herding dog. Corgis are generally known for being intelligent, active and outgoing.
Breed meetups can also give owners a chance to share information about training, grooming, exercise and caring for the energetic dogs.
Those planning to attend should meet in the far north section of the dog park, the same area used during the group’s previous gathering.
The event is open to local corgis and their owners.
