Salina Man Arrested After Allegedly Pointing Gun Toward Traffic
A Salina man was arrested Thursday evening after police responded to reports of an individual standing in the roadway and pointing a gun at passing traffic.
At approximately 6 p.m. on July 23, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Crawford Street after receiving reports of a male displaying a firearm toward vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers located 29-year-old Charles Spotted War Bonnet of Salina. Officers observed what appeared to be a black handgun tucked into his waistband and began issuing commands for him to comply.
According to police, Spotted War Bonnet initially reached toward the weapon before eventually complying with officers' commands and being taken into custody without further incident.
Investigators later determined the weapon was a realistic-looking pellet gun.
Spotted War Bonnet was arrested and booked on two counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and one count of hostile demonstration of a weapon.
The incident remains under investigation.
