Saline County Chip Seal Program Set to Begin July 27
Saline County's annual chip seal program is scheduled to begin Monday, July 27, according to a notice from the county. Work will start on South Old Highway 81 before crews move to other county roads on the project schedule. The timeline is weather dependent.
Traffic will be maintained through active work zones using a pilot car. Motorists should expect delays of 5 to 15 minutes in areas where crews are working. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, follow posted traffic control measures, and allow extra travel time.
Chip sealing is a pavement preservation method used to seal cracks, protect road surfaces from moisture, and extend the life of existing roadways.
