Susan Gail Kelly

Susan Gail Kelly, 68, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away on July 24, 2026. She was born July 27, 1957, in Topeka, Kansas, to Florence (Fritton) Kelly and Leo Patrick Kelly, Sr.

Susie graduated from Hayden High School and from Washburn University with a degree in Elementary Education. Susie was a care giver for years at various independent living homes and was a fierce advocate for those with special needs. She developed close personal relationships with those she cared for and their families.

Susie is survived by her son, Patrick S. Kelly, his wife Ginger, and their two sons Grady and Brogan whom she loved dearly; a sister, Mary Kelly Herman; and two brothers James Kelly and Patrick Kelly.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 311 S. Buckeye Ave, Abilene. A rosary will be prayed at 9:40 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. The graveside committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 801 SW Westchester Rd, Topeka.

Memorials may be made in Susie’s honor to Home Health & Hospice of Dickinson County, 1111 N Brady St, Abilene, KS 67410.
