Suspect Steals Money Box From Gaming Machine at Kwik Shop
Salina Police are investigating a theft and vandalism incident reported at a Kwik Shop in the 2000 block of South Ohio Street.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 5:30 a.m. on July 25 after an employee reported a theft involving a gaming machine inside the store.
According to police, a male suspect entered the business around 5 a.m. and began playing a gaming machine. While the suspect was at the machine, the clerk heard a metal scraping sound and approached to investigate.
The employee discovered the suspect had removed the machine's money box. The suspect then fled the store carrying the box.
The theft caused more than $1,000 in damage to the gaming machine. The amount of cash stolen remains under investigation.
The suspect was described as a male standing approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing black sweatpants, a black hoodie, gloves, and a black face covering.
The investigation remains ongoing.
